Los Alamos National Laboratory Oracle Software Developer (Software Developer 1/2) in Los Alamos, New Mexico

What You Will Do

This position will be filled at either a Software Developer 1 or 2 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level. The selected candidate will report to the SAE-2 Team Leader and perform job requirements as described below and as assigned by the SAE-2 Management.

Software Developer 1 Responsibilities($59,100 - $93,800)

The selected candidates will work as an Oracle Applications Developer in the Software Applications and Engineering group (SAE-2) supporting the development and maintenance of HRMS, Procurement, Financial, Inventory and Environment, Safety, Health applications systems and infrastructure components. Incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Work as a team member with direction from the SAE-2 management

  • Help design, modify, and test enhancements to applications supported by SAE-2

Software Developer 2 Responsibilities($71,000 - $115,700)

In addition to the duties outlined above, the Software Developer 2 will be required to:

  • Work as a team member and independently with direction from the SAE-2 management

  • Design, modify and test enhancements to applications supported by SAE-2

  • Provide software development support on Commercial of the shelf (COTS) applications

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

Software Developer 1 Requirements

  • Knowledge designing, developing, modifying, testing, debugging software to meet customer requirements

  • Experience using Oracle Databases

  • Experience writing SQL Queries, PL/SQL packages

  • Experience with software configuration management; software quality assurance methodologies

Software Developer 2 Requirements

In addition to the requirements outlined above, the Software Developer 2 will need:

  • Knowledge of secure coding practices

  • Knowledge of how to analyze and define business requirements and preparing technical designs

  • Experience designing, developing, modifying, testing, debugging and evaluating software to meet customer requirements

  • Experience using Oracle Databases

  • Experience writing SQL Queries, PL/SQL packages

  • Experience working with XML files

Desired Skills:

Software Developer 1

  • Experience using Oracle DB 12c

  • Experience developing application using Oracle APEX

  • Experience using a Software Version Control System

  • Experience using and or developing Web Services

Software Developer 2

In addition to the desired skills above:

  • Experience using a Software Version Control System

  • Experience developing and enhancing Mobile applications

  • Experience using and or developing Web Services

  • Experience developing and enhancing Oracle EBS modules

Education:

Software Developer1

Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Software Developer 2

Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Details:

Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter.
