What You Will Do

ThesuccessfulcandidatewillberequiredtooperateandmaintaintheSanitaryEffluentReclamationFacility(SERF)whichisanindustrialwatertreatmentfacilitythatprocessessanitaryeffluentforindustrialwaterreuse.Checks,inspects,andadjustsoperationagainstpredeterminedstandards.FollowsprocessConductofOperations(CoO)/verbaldirections.Observesequipmentandcontrolpanelsforoperatormessagesorerrorindicatorsandactstocorrect.Additionally,thecandidatewillberequiredtoprepareandcompletelaboratoryandoperationslogs,workwellwithstakeholdersandparticipateinteammeetings.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge/experienceworkingwithacid/causticchemicaloperations.

  • Abilitytoanalyze/troubleshootoperationalsystemproblemsandimplementcorrectiveactions.

  • Ability to obtain New Mexico Wastewater Certification up to level IV.

  • UnderstandingofSCADAcontrolandoperations.

  • Abletoworkindependentlywithminimalsupervision.

  • Strongverbalcommunicationandwritingskills.

  • Directexperiencewithoneormoreofthefollowing:reverseosmosis,micro-filtration,precipitation,andpHcontrolequipmentandprocesses.

  • Knowledgeofbasicchemistryorequivalentexperience.

  • Knowledge/understandingofchemicalspillcleanup.

  • Experienceperformingwaterlaboratorytesting(Chlorides,Silica,pH,settling).

  • Experienceoperatingandmaintainingmechanicalandelectricalsystems(Pumps,valves,MCCcontrolpanels,etc).

Education: AssociateDegreeorequivalentcombinationofeducation/experienceinindustrialwater/wastewaterorsimilarprocessfacilityandequipmentoperationsorequivalentmilitarytrainingandexperience.(2-4yearsofexperienceorcombinationofexperienceandeducation)

Additional Details:

No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

Term Position:Regular-status Laboratory employees applying for term-status positions may retain regular status with approval of the cognizant Principle Associate Director.

TheU&I;OperatorreportstotheU&I;SERFOperationsManager.TheU&I;OperatorisresponsibleforoperatingandmaintainingtheSanitaryEffluentReclamationFacility(SERF)whichisanindustrialwatertreatmentfacilitythatprocesssanitaryeffluentforindustrialwaterreuse.OperationsofSERFincludesoperatingReverseOsmosisunits,Micro-filters,precipitationandsettlingreactionprocesses,avarietyofwaterconstituenttesting,andacidandbasechemicalsystems.OperatorsworkcloselywithOperationsManagement,SystemEngineers,Maintenance,andSafetypersonneltosupportthefacilityoperation.
