Los Alamos National Laboratory Vibration Analysis (Engineered Systems Tech 4) in Los Alamos, New Mexico
What You Will Do
This position will report to the TA-55 Operations Equipment Operator Supervisor, and will perform required tasks centered around vibration analysis and work assigned by the supervisor. The Engineered Systems Tech 4 will be responsible for providing support for the day-to-day operations of ADPSM facilities at TA-55.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Familiarization with Conduct of Operations as applied to a Nuclear Facility and maintaining a Nuclear Facility.
Demonstrated experience and understanding of the following aspects of equipment operations as applied to a Nuclear Facility:
hazard identification and analysis
formal work control processes
Demonstrated experience collecting and analyzing vibration, ultrasound and thermographic information on fans, blowers, electrical motors, gearboxes, and compressors.
Demonstrated knowledge of typical facility electrical and mechanical systems, sub-systems and components (e.g. heating, ventilation, refrigeration systems, cooling towers, fire suppression/alarm systems, air compressors, pneumatic controls, etc.)
Demonstrated experience with vibration data collection and analysis.
Demonstrated experience in rotating equipment root cause failure analysis.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication
Knowledge and understanding of Limiting Conditions of Operation (LCO) as specified in the Technical Safety Requirements (TSR) while performing surveillances or assigned tasks.
Understanding of the concepts and principles of Integrated Work Management, Integrated Safety Management (ISM) and Integrated Safeguards and Security Management (ISSM), or equivalent non-DOE programs.
2-3 years’ experience in rotating equipment repair.
Education:Typically requires a high school diploma and 4-6 years of related experience.

HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, §712.11. These requirements include on-going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.
