What You Will Do

XIT Division is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Computing Systems Professional 2 (CSP-2) for the XIT Technical Services and Solutions (XIT-TSS) group. As a team member supporting LANL's Electronic Software Distribution (ESD) web store for software, the selected candidate will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of ­­­Flexera, a Software Asset Management solution to replace ESD. The candidate will also be responsible for testing applications, modifying installers, preparing system administrator/end user documentation and updating content for the ESD web store in a multi-platform environment. The candidate will work directly with a variety of software vendors to ensure that software installs and functions correctly in the LANL environment. The candidate will also ensure that residual risk due to software behavior is appropriately approved by the ISSO/ISSM.

The successful candidate will perform the full spectrum of software asset management identified above and other matters including but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with QA/QC to assure software reliability, functionality, and security

  • Work closely with the ESD Program Manager, Product Manager and developers to generate reports, assist in license management activities, improve the ESD service and respond to tickets

  • Working closely with SCCM, JAMF/Casper, QA/QC, field and service desk teams

  • Implement and maintain Software Asset Management software and infrastructure

  • Develop and maintain metrics, reports, documentation and deliver presentations

  • Provide technical leadership and knowledge in support of Software Asset Management

  • Assist with identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement to processes and tools related to Software Asset Management

  • Develop and maintain user self-help capabilities

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated SQL database experience including connections to other databases and web services

  • Demonstrated experience with SCCM or JAMF software deployments and administration

  • Demonstrated experience administering Windows Server 2012R2

  • Demonstrated experience in configuring, customizing and implementing third party software in an enterprise environment

  • Knowledge of Software Asset Management

  • Experience leading a technical project

Desired Skills

  • Scripting or programming experience (Python, PowerShell, HTML 5)

  • Flexera software asset management experience

  • Communications or marketing experience

  • Ability to generate ad-hoc reports from structured and unstructured data

Education Required: Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
