What You Will Do
This position will be filled at the Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Inspector 3 level. The successful candidate(s) will perform the following duties in this position:
Inspection of items against acceptance criteria using a range of inspection techniques ranging from open set up to CMMs and vision systems.
Perform/assist on basic to complex set-ups, alignments, maintenance, operations, and/or calibration of conventional tools and/or equipment.
Evaluate the validity and acceptability of inspection results.
Participate in the development of procedures related to specific assignment area.
Monitor operations for adherence to project plans, specifications, and procedures.
Occasional participation in the training and/or guidance of less-experienced inspectors or technicians.
Perform all evolutions within the conduct-of-operations environment of either a high-explosive or nuclear-operations facility.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Working knowledge of, and demonstrated experience in, metrology and inspections operations.
Working knowledge of performing set up, alignments, maintenance, operations, and/or calibration of conventional inspection tools and/or equipment.
Working knowledge of and experience using and interpreting GD&T technical principles, theories, and concepts through engineering blueprints, sketches, specifications, and related data to assist in the evaluation of design factors, and conducting operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
Demonstrated ability to implement and follow detailed procedures as well as work instructions.
Three (3) years of extensive previous directly-relevant work experience.
DOE Order 426.2 requires a High School Diploma and 1 year of job related experience
Demonstrated experience in researching, specifying, and selecting measurement and test equipment.
Experience with operations, safety requirements, and/or demonstrated experience working under the DOE Order 440.1B, High Explosives Safety Manual or alternately working in a nuclear facility under DOE O 422.1, Conduct of Operations.
Active DOE Q Clearance.
Education: High School diploma (or GED) plus 3-5 years of related experience. Technical Institute graduation or AA degree preferred. Alternatively, the education requirement can be met with a four year degree and one year of relevant work experience.
