What You Will Do
This position will be filled at either the HR Generalist 1 / HR Generalist 2 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
Reporting to the Human Resources Field & Central Services (HR-FCS) Group Leader, serve as the point-of-contact to a customer set as a deployed HR Generalist.
HR Generalist 1 ($55,400-$88,000)
As an entry level HR Generalist and as a key member of the team that enables customers to accomplish their mission, provide guidance and high-level support to Laboratory management within assigned organization(s) on all areas of HR products and services. Responsibilities will include:
Advise managers and employees on human resources policies, ensuring a complete understanding of HR-related business needs and objectives.
Partner with the customer to implement HR programs and address common and moderately complex business issues in areas of compensation, staffing, employee relations, AA/EEO and organizational development.
Assist in the gathering and analyzing of data for simple and straightforward workforce issues and reviewing the processing of personnel requests or actions to ensure conformance to policy.
HR Generalist 2 ($67,900-$107,700)
In addition to the duties outlined above, the HR Generalist 2 will be required to:
Manage process improvement initiatives.
Mentor of junior staff.
Partner with HR core functions to establish HR programs.
Lead HR initiatives.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Basic working knowledge of HR theories, principles, and understanding of HR as an interrelated system of functional operations.
Demonstrated analytical skills and proven competence in anticipating, identifying, researching, analyzing, and resolving general HR and organizational issues.
Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying HR policy and procedures.
Demonstrated proficient use of software applications, such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, etc.

Additional requirements at the level 2:
Specialized knowledge of HR theories, principles, and understanding of HR as an interrelated system of functional operations.
Ability to build networks across functional and organizational boundaries.
Demonstrated experience in managing difficult situations and conflict.
Desired skills at both levels:
Professional certification (PHR, SPHR) is highly desirable.
Detailed knowledge of organization and business as well as knowledge of lab organizational structure, mission and goals.
Active DOE Q clearance.
E ducation HR Generalist 1: Position typically requires a minimum of two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education HR Generalist 2: Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job will close on April 26, 2019 at Close of Business.
