What You Will Do
This position is housed within the Deployed Environment, Safety, and Health Facilities Division in the Associate Directorate for Environment, Safety, and Health at Los Alamos National Laboratory. The position is responsible for supporting senior industrial hygienists in the deployed TA55 Facility Operations Group, which provides oversight, guidance and support in order to ensure compliance with applicable ES&H; regulations and contractual requirements. The position will assist in evaluating work activities for industrial hygiene and safety hazards, performing exposure assessments, documenting results, and recommending controls.
The successful candidate will perform the following:
Review work activities for industrial hygiene and safety hazards, evaluate hazards, and recommend controls;
Under the direction of a senior IH, perform personal air and area sampling for a variety of workplace and activity hazards;
Enter exposure assessment evaluations and data in electronic database;
Review worker assignments and work activities for medical surveillance needs;
Perform facility inspections and work observations;
Learn about operations and IH career opportunities at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health or related technical field with an interest in pursuing a Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene.
Demonstrated experience working effectively as part of a team.
Basic skill in preparing written reports.
Ability to comprehend and analyze data.
Knowledge of and experience with industrial hygiene and safety hazards and controls
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements and ACGIH threshold limit values.
- Bachelor of Science degree in environmental health or related/relevant technical field.

This position is part of the TA55 Facility Operations Group in the Deployed Environment, Safety, and Health Facilities Division at LANL. The TA55 Facility Operations Group is housed in several major facilities at Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
