What You Will Do

This position will be filled at either the Software Developer 3 or 4 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.

The SAE Division seeks a dynamic and experienced JIRA Administrator with a strong vision for combining lean, efficient software delivery with a commitment to maintaining high standards for software quality and security.

The JIRA Administrator will administer our project tooling, specifically JIRA and Atlassian Confluence, and set up custom features, reports, use cases, and presentation layer. The selected candidate will report to the SAE-2 Team Leader and perform the tasks as described below as well as any others assigned by the SAE-2 Group Management.

Software Developer 3 ($87,800 - $144,800)

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Configure and maintain the production JIRA/ Confluence Service.

  • Support and troubleshoot JIRA/ Confluence.

  • Work with JIRA/ Confluence to enable custom workflows, fields, dashboards, and reports.

  • Create and manage complex JIRA components including project workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes in JIRA.

  • Install, configure, maintain, and enhance the Atlassian (JIRA/ Confluence) systems that we use to manage work.

  • Responsible for bug and issue tracking and resolution, and project management tool.

  • Help guide and maintain the organization of data in Confluence.

Software Developer 4 ($96,600 – $161,300)

In addition to the duties outlined above, the Software Developer 4 will be required to:

  • Guide and maintain the organization of data in Confluence.

  • Ensure systems are stable and available and that user issues are addressed in a timely manner.

  • Discover opportunities to improve the workflow of daily tasks and lead efforts to drive improvements in team efficiency.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Experience supporting and troubleshoot JIRA and Confluence environments which includes upgrading and patching.

  • Experience working with JIRA to enable custom workflows, fields, dashboards, and reports.

  • Experience creating and managing complex JIRA components including project workflows, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes in JIRA.

  • Experience with bug tracking, issue tracking, and project management tools.

  • Experience with guiding and maintaining the organization of data in Confluence.

  • Experience ensuring the systems are stable and available as well as user issues are addressed in a timely manner.

  • Experience developing opportunities to improve the workflow of daily tasks and lead efforts to drive improvements in team efficiency.

  • This position requires Q clearance access authorization. Applicants must have the ability to obtain and maintain DOE clearances, which normally requires US citizenship.

In addition to the Job Requirements outlined above, qualification at the Software Developer 4 level requires:

  • Demonstrate strong analytic and problem solving abilities.

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communications skills.

  • Expert knowledge and demonstrated experience with modern Configuration Management and tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team of IT professionals and a record of excellent leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range targets. Assignments are often self-initiated with minimum supervision.

Desired Skills:

  • Technical experience supporting the Enterprise Business Suite modules.

  • Technical experience supporting the Waste Management applications.

  • Technical experience supporting the Oracle MRP application.

  • Technical experience supporting Digital Data Acquisition systems.

  • Technical experience supporting Dosimetry and Industrial Hygiene applications such as the External, Internal, and Bioassay Systems.

Education:

Software Developer 3 requirements: Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, post graduate course work may be desirable.

Software Developer 4 requirements: Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of twelve years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, post graduate course work may be expected.
