What You Will Do_
Position to support the Logistics Division with craft clearance processing. Compiles, organizes and electronically enters security related information for all craft employees in the E-quip system for initial clearances, reinvestigations, reapprovals and reconsiderations. Answers complex and routine questions related to personal security. Interprets and explains complex DOE and Laboratory security requirements, rules, procedures and polices. Works closely with Logistics Division management, Personnel Security and Human Resources Labor Relations. Position requires minimal supervision. Discretion is upmost, as information is PII and confidential for each craft employee.
Safety and security are a primary responsibility for all Laboratory employees. Maintains required safety and security training, assures safety and security compliance, and makes safety and security an integral part of every task, including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe.
Develops, interprets and validates accuracy, and auditing performance data, reports, and other statistical information to ensure compliance with safety, quality, budget and schedule.
Develops complex data queries and develops reports required for use in tracking all craft clearance submissions and statuses.
Evaluates and analyzes processes, programs, and procedures for potential improvements.
Implements related documentation systems and ensures compliance with all applicable document control and records management activities and security/compliance implications.
Understands and adheres to all Laboratory and industry regulatory guidance and governance specific to maintenance and quality assurance programs.

What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Full understanding of and experience with policy and strategy performance assurance, including policy and procedure development, implementation and enforcement.
Working knowledge of and experience with document control and records management.
Experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on complex problems.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication.
Skill in the preparation and presentation of reports.
Expert skills in Microsoft Office products.
Working knowledge of security policy and procedures and enforcement.
Understanding of work hazards, safety practices policies and procedures.
Ability to conceptualize and communicate major elements of security requirements to both technical and non-technical personnel.
Ability to self-supervise.
Education:Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, post graduate course work may be expected.
Clearance: Q(Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
