What You Will Do eXperience IT (XIT) Division is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Media Production/Services Specialist 2 for the XIT Technical Services and Solutions (XIT-TSS) group. T he Media Services Team within XIT-TSS is responsible for performing photography and video production work around the Laboratory as well as the operation of several auditoriums and printing services. As part of the Media Services Team, the Media Production/Services Specialist 2 will perform video production work and work with a team to create video communication products.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Perform video production services as part of a team of media specialists

  • Collaborate with customers and creative teams on pre-production, production, and post-production

  • Write video scripts and create storyboards

  • Light subjects and locations with variety of equipment

  • Capture high-quality audio

  • Maintain archives and produce metadata of all recorded video material

  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with customers, technical staff, and Laboratory management

  • Promote a mutually respectful work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Excellent customer service

  • Demonstrated experience producing high-quality video

  • Demonstrated experience capturing high-quality audio

  • Experience planning and creating collaborative audiovisual productions

  • Experience in a high-output, deadline-driven production environment

  • Extensive knowledge of photographic and video production technologies for both capturing and editing for final product output to determined medium

  • Extensive knowledge of visual storytelling techniques

  • Knowledge of documentary-style or explanatory video production

  • Knowledge of photography and video lighting techniques

  • Skilled with multimedia production software (e.g., Premiere, Photoshop, etc.)

  • Skilled in verbal and written communications and in negotiating with customers and vendors

  • Demonstrated creativity and artistic talent for visually communicating difficult concepts such as scientific processes

  • Demonstrated ability and desire to become knowledgeable with new technology, styles and standards, as the multimedia industry and Laboratory’s needs change

Desired Skills

  • Active DOE Q clearance

  • Technical or professional certifications related to multimedia or digital arts

  • Experience or training in Information Technology

  • Skilled in Adobe After Effects or animation production software

  • Knowledge of the Laboratory’s records management policies, practices, and procedures

Education: Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
