What You Will Do

Seeking highly motivated candidates for the position of Production Control Specialist 3, working in a manufacturing environment within the SSE-2 Manufacturing Systems and Execution Team. Looking for individuals with a wide-range of manufacturing scheduling and planning experience who use professional concepts, objectives and best standard practices. Must be able to develop and implement solutions to resolve production issues, drive process improvement, scope out and implement enhancements, etc. Must understand complete end to end supply chain and the impacts of upstream and downstream processes and systems. Plan and coordinate production schedules for a variety of product lines within the ADPSM directorate. Will be required to formulate production reports to be used during Plan of the Day (POD), Plan of the Week (POW) and other integrated schedule meetings. Candidates may also be required to work with Product, Process, and Quality Engineers to create comprehensive Bills of Materials, Routers, and Discrete Jobs for the manufacturing of product using the Oracle E-Business Suite for Discrete Manufacturing (Manufacturing Resource Planning –MRP) System and the iBaseT Solumina MES. Schedule production processes and resource activities relating to resource availability in a high demand nuclear facility. Identifies and communicates concerns and issues potential to scheduling impacts. Works with the team to develop a solution to minimize the impact. Relays information to team members and management.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Extensive planning and scheduling experience using best standard practices

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Manufacturing Systems (MRP systems and/or MES systems)

  • Expanded experience analyzing past and present data to generate reports and schedules

  • Demonstrated record of adherence to manufacturing policies, programs, procedures, and practices

  • Demonstrated strong tactical decision making

  • Strong communication, organization, logistical and multi-tasking skills

  • Strong decision making skills in order to avoid negative impacts on the business as it pertains to product deliveries if decisions

  • Extensive experience in the preparation and presentation of scheduling reports (i.e. Master Production Schedule) and recommendations to diverse audiences of internal/external customers.

  • Extensive communication and collaboration skills

  • Must be able to manage workload under time pressure and changing priorities

  • Ability to work with a variety of team members and business users

  • Analytical and logical ability to define and interpret business requirements

  • Ability to learn new system technologies quickly

  • Must be self-motivated and able to conduct business with a high degree of professionalism

  • Proven customer service skills

Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience in Oracle E-Business Suite for Discrete Manufacturing

  • Comprehensive understanding of Department of Energy (DOE) Laboratory policies, practices, and procedures

  • Knowledge of Production Control concepts

  • Certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM) training and/or certification

  • Experience working with classified systems and data

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Concepts

  • Active Q Clearance

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in a Business Management discipline, Supply Chain Management or related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of eight years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
