Los Alamos National Laboratory Program Manager 1 in Los Alamos, New Mexico

What You Will Do

The E‐DO Program Manager 1 will work with Division Program Managers and other E-DO groups to ensure that all ongoing programmatic work is properly tracked in the division’s integrated schedule. The Program Manager 1 will also work with division management and Weapons Facilities Operations (WFO) to ensure all ongoing facility upgrades and maintenance is executed according to schedule. The Program Manager 1 will also be responsible for updating the investments and capabilities documentation as well as working with group management and the division to identify what projects to fund.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Program Management

Entry-Level knowledge of and experience in program management of technical or operational work, including defining program work scope, schedules, budgets, priorities, and performance milestones; developing cost, scope, and schedule baselines; reporting cost and schedule variance; and managing change control and risk.

Project Control & Scheduling

Demonstrated ability to manage cost and schedule commitments for projects or programs. Entry-Level knowledge and demonstrated ability in applying project controls principles, including cost and performance reporting, variance analysis and use of cost and schedule tools.


Demonstrated record of successfully supporting cross‐organization teams to ensure complex technologies or products are delivered within budget and on schedule.Experience in interacting effectively with all levels of internal personnel; building trust, gaining consensus, and resolving conflicts. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.


Minimum requirement is a bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Desired Qualifications:

Project Management

Entry-Level knowledge in estimating project costs.Project Management experience familiar with managing mid-size to moderately complex projects in the areas of scope management, budget and schedule.Demonstrated experience in working/coordinating facility and operations projects.

Laboratory Experience

Entry-Level knowledge of nuclear weapons and NNSA facilities that support the U.S. stockpile.Work experience in nuclear or high explosive facilities.

Training & Certifications

Project Management Professional (PMP) is desired

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 .
