What You Will Do

The Project Controls Group reports to the Program Performance Services organization within the Capital Projects Associate Level Directorate of Los Alamos National Laboratory. The Program Performance Services-Project Controls Group (PPS-PC) has over 150 employees deployed across the Laboratory performing project controls functions for both capital projects and science programs. The successful candidate will be required to Provides analysis and reports on assigned areas to the project.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Excellent capabilities with all LANL standard business systems, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion on multiple tasks under strict deadlines and changing priorities.

  • Demonstrated successful experience working on multiple projects with frequent interruptions, varying priorities and deadlines while maintaining excellent quality in daily work.

  • Excellent communication skills including interpersonal, verbal and written, demonstrating the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.

  • Specific knowledge of an area of the Laboratory (document control, training, purchasing/subcontracts, budgets, engineering, operations support, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Laboratory processes and procedures customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.

  • Experience performing quantity takeoffs, statistical analysis, and computer operations.

  • Skilled in understanding technical processes, engineering drawings, quantity determinations, and mathematical and financial records.

  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.

  • Experience in scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis.

  • Experience in field and office cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis.

  • Experience in preparing project control reports, plans, and detailed staffing utilization plans.

  • Experience in preparing cost/schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations.

  • Experience as a team leader providing personnel management support that includes technical and operational direction to assigned personnel.

  • Knowledge of specific project codes of accounts and recommends appropriate modifications and revisions.

Education: Position requires a degree in engineering, construction management, or other related degree. Position requires a minimum of eight years of direct project controls experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
