Los Alamos National Laboratory Quality Analyst (Research Technologist 2) in Los Alamos, New Mexico
What You Will Do
The successful candidate will providing support to AAC through development, implementation, and evaluation of processes, procedures, and applications contributing to the overall objective an effective Quality Management System. The individual will participate in nonconformance reporting, root cause analysis, corrective action processes, assessments, procurement, M&TE; calibrations and tracking, and other QA functions as required.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Research Technologist 2 ($80,100 – $131,000)
The successful candidate will:
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with at least three of the following: audits, assessments, and surveillances; records management; procurement process; tracking of measure and test equipment (M&TE;); root cause analyses process; and receipt inspections.
Proven knowledge of or experience with implementing 10CFR830 Subpart A, DOE O 414.1D, NQA-1, ISO17025, NAP-24A or other quality assurance programs.
Demonstrated experience as a programmer in Laboratory Information Management Systems.
Demonstrated experience researching, assembling, and/or evaluating information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes, recommends sound, practical solutions to complex issues.
Hands on analytical chemistry experience including sample analysis, control charts, quality control requirements, and analytical data packages.
Experience utilizing analytical chemistry instruments; conducting calibrations; performance of maintenance on analytical instruments; and preparing analytical chemistry standards.
Proven experience handling and calibrating various types of analytical chemistry, M&TE; including but not limited to: balances, pipettes, and volumetric glassware and/or plastic-ware.
Proven knowledge of the DOE nuclear weapons program.
Certified Quality Auditor or similar credential.
Software Quality Assurance experience and/or knowledge.
Demonstrated experience working in a nuclear facility.
Ability to obtain Q Clearance.
Education Required: This position typically requires a bachelor’s degree in science, technology or related field and minimum of 4 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Degree in Chemistry is preferred.

Located in northern New Mexico, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. The Analytical Actinide Chemistry (AAC) group in chemistry division provides actinide analytical chemistry services to customers both internal and external to LANL. The Actinide Analytical Chemistry Group at Los Alamos National Laboratory provides expertise in chemical and radiochemical analysis of materials where actinide elements, including plutonium and uranium, make up a significant portion of the sample. These analyses range from assay of the major and minor components down to trace analysis of impurities – spanning over seven orders of magnitude of chemical analysis capability.
