Los Alamos National Laboratory Quantum Dot Devices Postdoctoral Research Associate in Los Alamos, New Mexico

What You Will Do

Nanotechnology and Advanced Spectroscopy Team of the Chemistry Division (C) is seeking outstanding candidates to join existing projects on the development of exploratory devices based on colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals (quantum dots). The structures of interest are luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs), photovoltaic (PV) cells, field-effect transistors (FETs), light-emitting diodes (LEDs), and optically and electrically pumped lasers. The device-related work will be supported by existing team efforts in nanocrystal synthesis, various optical spectroscopies, and microstructural characterization. Detailed information on Team’s research projects and capabilities is available at http://quantumdot.lanl.gov. For additional inquiries, please, contact Victor I. Klimov at klimov@lanl.gov.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Good understanding of device physics and device modeling.

  • Clean-room experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Nanocrystal synthesis.

  • Experience in microstructural analysis (TEM, XRD, XPS), routine optical spectroscopies (UV-Vis, FTIR, PL, PLE), and scanning-probe microscopy (STM, AFM, MFM).

Education:

  • A Ph.D. completed within the last five years or soon to be completed is required.

Additional Details:

No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
