What You Will Do

LOG-MSM is looking for a Subcontract Technical Representative (STR) to manage real property maintenance and repair subcontracts. This position will be responsible for supporting our customers with subcontract requirement development, work execution, coordination, day-to-day technical/ administrative guidance and associated closeout activities as assigned.

The STR shall work with various organizations and the Subcontractor to ensure compliance with laboratory and external regulatory requirements including Security, ES&H (Environmental, Safety and Health) and training.

In addition, the successful candidate must be willing to learn all aspects of Subcontract Management including applicable Acquisition Services Maintenance and Laboratory policies and procedures.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in managing or supporting real property maintenance Subcontract activities.

  • Proficiency in the formation and administration of subcontracts throughout the subcontract process including statement of work development, bidder pre-qualification, compilation of bid requests, bid evaluation, award, subcontractor performance monitoring, back charge procedures, resolution of claims and disputes, financial accruals and other such related steps.

  • Experience and knowledge of engineering/real property maintenance practices, applicable government and industry regulations, standards and practices,

  • Knowledgeable in the operation and repair of facility support systems including HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.

  • Familiar with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.

  • Significant experience with computer based programs including Microsoft Office WORD, EXCEL and POWER POINT.

  • Demonstrated experience interacting effectively with customers, co-workers, and managers in a collaborative manner to achieve organizational objectives.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal-written) to include presentation skills

  • Demonstrated record of commitment to a working environment of quality and excellence to safety and security.

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of the Laboratory’s organizational structure, policies, procedures and work practices.

  • Knowledge and experience managing Electrical subcontracts and related requirements including NFPA70E, NEC

  • Demonstrated experience with managing utility type service(s) including natural gas, water, compressed gas and steam systems

Education: Position typically requires a recognized degree in engineering, construction or contracts law or specialized courses in contract management and a minimum of five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Where You Will Work

As a member of the LOG-MSM team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Laboratory’s Maintenance and Site Services Division in the development and execution of maintenance and repair subcontracts, custodial and food service subcontracts. Our success is vital to maintaining the Laboratory’s facility infrastructure in support of Los Alamos National Lab’s mission.
