What You Will Do
As an Emergency Planning and Preparedness Specialist you will support the Integrated Preparedness team within the Emergency Management Organization. You will report directly to the Integrated Preparedness manager, within the Emergency Preparedness group at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). You will be responsible for supporting the Emergency Management Division's Integrated Assurance team in developing, implementing, and evaluating requirements codified in DOE O 151.1, Comprehensive Emergency Management System.
In this role, you may support the following Emergency Preparedness programs: Planning, Readiness Assurance, Training, and Drill & Exercise programs. The overall purpose of these programs is to support LANL's preparedness and readiness to respond to emergency incidents at the site. These various programs provide training, evaluation, and assurance as to the effectiveness, confidence, and state of readiness at LANL.
This position requires unique creativity in program development and implementation strategies. Responsibilities may include data analysis and trending, supporting corrective action development, creating sustainable training processes, presentation of program material to stakeholders, developing programmatic frameworks and documents working with subject matter experts, facilitating change control discussions, and overall coordination with stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance with program requirements.
At this level, you will be expected to work independently, propose creative solutions, and lead activities of increased complexity and scope.

Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in emergency management, including preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation.
- Demonstrated experience in generating and conducting training or instruction.
- Demonstrated knowledge of readiness assurance (including self-assessments, data analysis and trending, corrective action planning, lessons learned, and best practices).
- Working knowledge of developing, preparing, or implementing policies, plans, procedures, or related documentation that enable program success and compliance within applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to collaborate and partner with stakeholders at various levels, as well as working effectively in a team environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with DOE Order 151.1, Comprehensive Emergency Management System.
- Familiarity with Los Alamos National Laboratory operations and structure.
- Experience working in an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) environment.
- Working knowledge of National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS) principles, concepts, and terminology.
- Working knowledge of Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) concepts and principles.
