This posting is for a Materials Management Support 4 position in the Materials Management Group (LOG-MM) of the Logistics Division. As a member of the Receiving Team, the Materials Management Support 4 will work under the direct supervision of the Receiving Team Leader. The team member will provide support and be primarily responsible for accepting incoming shipments, processing those shipments, and supporting other OP-MM receiving functions as needed. Responsibilities also include but are not limited to physical acceptance of incoming shipments purchase orders, purchase card shipments, name only packages, and ORACLE BOA's.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Familiarity with warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with Receiving and Customer Service Operations and functions.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks and dollies.
- Basic knowledge of hazardous material regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel and customers.
- Knowledge of office management, data entry, data maintenance, filing, and composing documents such as customer and vendor correspondence.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including a commitment to teamwork, and encouraging open communication skills.
- Ability to organize tasks, make decisions, take initiative, and assume responsibility.
- Commitment to safety, security, environment, quality, and diversity in the workplace.
- Knowledge of implementing institutional policies and procedures.
- Ability to obtain a Q clearance.
Education: Position requires five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, additional training, certification, and/or education may be desirable.
Desired Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of processes and procedures that affect Receiving and Customer Service operations.
- Familiarity with LANL operational and administrative policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with LANL sites and facilities.
- Familiarity with Oracle, Gemini, Take Supply and other LANL based operating systems.
- Active Q Clearance.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance which requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon position, additional authorization to access nuclear weapons information may be required that may or may not be available to dual citizens depending upon the circumstances.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
