What You Will Do

The Construction Warehouse Manufacturing Support Manager 3, First Line Manager (FLM), reports to the Supply Chain Management (SCL-2) Group Leader and provides management and leadership to the SCL Warehouse team. The objective of the Warehouse is to provide material storage in support of the ALDWP mission. This warehouse is critical to the Laboratory's mission.

The Manufacturing Support Manager builds a cohesive, high performing team; directs the work activity to meet deliverables; and manages the execution of work in alignment with the organizations vision, goals and commitments. The Manufacturing Support Manager is responsible for scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, security, and environmental compliance for the team. The Construction Warehouse Manufacturing Support Manager works closely and coordinates with multiple warehouse teams as well as Procurement Manufacturing Managers to facilitate and prioritize the day-to-day receiving and distribution of facility, programmatic, and maintenance material. The Manufacturing Support Manager applies wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and Laboratory objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Due to high demand and need for 24/7 Operations, this shift will support mission critical activities Thursday-Sunday from 5pm - 3:30am.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements

Leadership/Supervision

Demonstrated expertise and technical leadership in two or more of the following areas:

  • Demonstrated experience managing, storing, handling, and controlling inventory of all materials and equipment in a nuclear facility including, complex program equipment projects
  • Demonstrated experience with Inventory Control systems
  • Demonstrated experience managing facility and programmatic work with experience in procurement, inventory management safety, and security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proven ability in management, supervision, and development of assigned employees, including team building, consensus building, problem solving, and conflict resolution.

Warehouse Operations
  • Proven experience managing warehouse logistics and day-to-day operations, including receiving, inspecting, controlling, transferring and delivering material to multiple nuclear facilities.
  • Previous experience developing storage and distribution models that include factors such as warehouse locations, customer locations, or available transportation modes to maximize operational efficiency or sustainability.
  • Proven ability to monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels of products or materials in warehouse to support imminent needs.
  • Experience tracking and tracing items while they are in route to their destinations, and expediting orders when necessary.
  • Proven ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in daily operations
  • Commitment to process improvement while remaining compliant with strict requirements

Financial

In-depth knowledge of work package development and execution, identification of resource requirements and development of resource loaded schedules and financial stewardship.

Communication

Record of effective written and oral communication skills as evidenced by internal and/or external interactions, seminars, briefings, presentations, and publications.

Education and Years of Relevant Experience

Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 5 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Q Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain HRP certification.
  • Experience providing briefings and/or stand up instruction in an operational environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and Laboratory requirements related to nuclear facilities.
  • Ability to obtain a forklift license
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Classified Matter Protection Custodian
  • Chemical Management
  • Experience managing M&TE
  • Detailed knowledge of Laboratory practices polices, and procedures specifically relating to controlled storage, spare parts management and procurement.
  • Knowledge in key interface areas supporting nuclear facilities operations at TA-55, including but not limited to criticality safety, radiological protection, safety basis, industrial safety, physical and information security, environmental compliance, NQA-1 requirements, Conduct of Engineering, high hazard operations, waste management, analytical chemistry, and metal operations.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Additional Details

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, §712.11. These requirements include on going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.

Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
