This position will be filled at either the Operations and Maintenance Coordinator 1/2 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
Operations & Maintenance Coordinator 1 $83,900-$136,600
Work as a member of the Process Maintenance and Decontamination Services Group (PMDS), Programmatic Work Control Team. The Programmatic Work Control Team is responsible for performing monthly Preventive Maintenance (PM), Corrective and Troubleshooting Maintenance (CM), and Troubleshooting and Construction per work orders issued via Facility Service Requests (FSRs) and programmatic Maintenance Requests (PMR's) at TA-55 in PF-4, RLUOB, and WCRR. The selected candidate will primarily support TA-55 programmatic work control activities and report to the First Line Manager for preparing, reviewing and issuing of PM, CM, and other work orders for TA-55 programmatic operations and will be expected to work independently and interact with a variety of stakeholders both in writing and in person. Schedule programmatic work and participate in Plan of the Day (POD) and Plan of the Week (POTW) meetings as required. Provide work control support for the Programmatic Work Control Team/Center; check in/ checkout process of work packages. Support development of estimated maintenance and project support costs. Responsible for maintaining, updating and the closure of group assigned FSR's, PMR's' and tracking and status of backlogged and deferred work.
Provides direct or indirect support to the maintenance function of a facility and/or programmatic systems through the implementation and/or administrative control of a variety of maintenance programs, policies, functions, and objectives. Verifies that maintenance activities are performed within technical specifications, manufacturer's requirements, and/or generally accepted industry practices.
- Understand Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance, and Conduct of Engineering procedures.
- Understand facility systems and the ability to communicate facility and equipment issues to both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Understand the basics of troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of facility equipment and systems.
- Understand the operation of facility equipment; mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Understand the use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Understand the operation of programmatic equipment, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems in and out of the glovebox system.
- Understand the basics of troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of programmatic equipment and systems in and out of the glovebox system.
Operations & Maintenance Coordinator 2 $92,300-$151,000
In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level
- Ability to conceptualize and fully communicate major elements of facility maintenance, programmatic equipment maintenance, safety basis, health & safety and operations to both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Ability to oversee and coordinating maintenance and construction projects.
- Working knowledge of facility systems or programmatic systems and equipment including but not limited to; HVAC, process water systems, heat exchangers, pumps, motors, chillers, cooling towers, hot water systems, power distribution including electrical motor control centers, pneumatic systems and controls, direct digital control (DDC) systems, hoists/cranes, elevators, lighting, fire protection systems, Life Safety systems, roll up doors, access systems to include badge readers, locks and cores.
- Working knowledge of use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System, i.e., Asset Suites. Ability to use the Facility Service Request (FSR), the Programmatic Maintenance Request (PMR) and the Engineering Service Request (ESR) systems.

Knowledge in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting Work Control and the Work Management Center.

Ability to understand facility maintenance policies, practices, and procedures. Ability to utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system, personal computer software, and site licensed programs in creating and maintaining maintenance reports.
Technical:
Ability to understand and interpret various mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.

Strategic Communication:

Understand Laboratory's facility maintenance policies, practices, and procedures. Understand work control, maintenance and/or materials management. Understanding of work hazards, safety practices and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures for LANL facilities. Ability to fully utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system, personal computer software, and site licensed programs in creating and maintaining maintenance reports.
Education/Experience at the Operations & Maintenance Coordinator 1: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the position.
Education/Experience at the Operations & Maintenance Coordinator 2: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the position.
DOE 426.2: Requires 1 year job related experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Q Clearance
- Ability to gain HRP Certification and maintain
- Full understanding of the Laboratory's maintenance and facility policies, practices, and procedures.
- Prior experience in T-Week scheduling coordination
- Experience in facility Operations, Engineering and/or Maintenance
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
