About The Infrastructure and Capital Projects Directorate

The dedicated members of the Infrastructure and Capital Projects team deliver high-quality, cost-effective projects safely, on time, and within budget. This group strategically engages and collaborates with project owners, team members and key stakeholders throughout the Laboratory in the delivery of each capital project.

Construction Managers

Construction managers are responsible for the successful completion of all activities related to the construction of assigned Laboratory projects. You will play an integral role in the formulation of and adherence to construction policies and programs for assigned projects, and contribute to the overall administration, technical direction, coordination, and direct line responsibilities for field construction. We'll also rely on you to make safety and security an integral part of every task, maintaining and ensuring safety and security training and compliance.

Project Managers

Project managers strategically engage and collaborate with project owners, team members, and key stakeholders throughout the Laboratory to ensure that project development, planning, and execution comply with requirements and result in excellent project delivery. You will lead an Integrated Project Team (IPT) to conduct planning and execution activities including developing and documenting project scope, execution plans, schedules, and budget baselines, as well as identifying, assessing, and managing project risks.

Project Controls Managers

Project controls managers are responsible for leading and directing cost engineering, as well as cost analysis and control. You will plan and schedule activities for various groups, projects, programs, proposals, and staff planning activities. Other duties include directing the preparation and presentation of on-project estimates and cost forecasts, as well as supporting project or program organizational and administrative needs.

Project Specialists

Project specialists facilitate and coordinate the field execution, preparatory, and/or planning activities on a project. You will plan and coordinate assignments on the project and ensure workers have access to the appropriate work locations and resources. You will also research and evaluate information from subject matter experts and functional support groups regarding LANL policy, program requirements, industry practices, or applicable regulatory changes affecting policies or programs and recommend practical solutions to issues. We'll rely on you to provide input to the statement of work, schedules, procedures, integrated work control documents, project assumptions, and constraints related to project performance of field execution work.

Superintendents

Superintendents are responsible for directing the sequence of work for multi-discipline, bargaining unit craft workers. You will ensure that facility modifications continuously adhere to engineering designs, engineering document control, specifications, quality standards, schedules, material procurement, and budgets. Superintendents support the investigation of abnormal events, incidents, and accidents to identify the root cause and assist in implementing appropriate corrective actions. We'll also rely on you to create and organize schedules for material, equipment, and personnel.
