Los Alamos National Laboratory Computing System Tec (Computing Systems Tec 4) in Los Alamos, New Mexico

What You Will Do

Join our world class computing organization! Experience Information Technology (XIT) division is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Windows and Mac OS X System Administrator for the XIT Institutional Systems Services (XIT-ISS) group. Our diverse work group consists of approximately 65 professionals, technicians, and students. The successful candidate will be providing dedicated desktop support services to an assigned customer base in various locations across the laboratory. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day technical support services for XIT-ISS customers in a heterogeneous computing environment.

Computing Systems Tec 4 (CST-4) ($62,800 - $99,800)

The successful candidate will perform the full spectrum of remote and field level Windows and Mac desktop administration, including but not limited to:

  • Support Windows and Mac desktop systems on the unclassified network

  • Ticketmaster role and responsibilities

  • Resolve issues or fulfill requests through Windows and Mac remote desktop support

  • Troubleshoot issues through on-site field support

  • Installing, configuring and troubleshooting desktop, or mobile systems, workstations, and network issues including, wireless and role-based access control in a heterogeneous environment

  • Setup and installation of hardware and software

  • Providing outstanding customer service, including working with customers to resolve issues

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience of Windows and Mac OS X system administration including utilizing Active Directory to proactively manage systems

  • Ability to resolve issues or fulfill requests through Windows and Mac remote desktop support

  • Experience troubleshooting problems using Bomgar, SCCM Remote, or similar desktop automation systems to remotely administer systems

  • Experience researching, installing, and troubleshooting, hardware, software and encryption issues

  • Experience working well in a team environment as well as working independently to provide outstanding customer service and resolve customer issues

  • Must have organizational skills, time management skills and outstanding customer service

Education/Experience:

Position typically requires a high school diploma and four-to-six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, additional training, certification, and/or education may be expected, including associate’s degrees and graduation from technical institutions.

Desired Qualifications:

  • UNIX/Linux system administration experience

  • JAMF administration experience

  • SCCM administration experience

Location: This position will be physically located in Los Alamos, NM.

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 .
