What You Will Do_
This position will be filled at either the Computing Systems Professional 1 or 2 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
NPI-8 is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Computing Systems Professional (CSP). The newly formed Programmatic Training and Business Solutions team is responsible for the development and maintenance of ADPSM’s red and yellow web sites as well as development and continuous maintenance of 140+ programmatic yellow and red SharePoint application sites. The CSP will support various databases and applications to include customized development and upkeep (e.g. system access/permissions, quick fixes, workflow creation/maintenance, etc.) across the organization. This work will be performed in a fast-paced environment with the potential for growth in the areas of providing tailored solutions in direct support of specific programmatic needs and mission milestones. Furthermore, to help the organization standardize and streamline how we manage knowledge and content, the CSP will work with Solutions Architects to help establish, implement and maintain ADPSM’s Digital Content Management Plan.
Working on a team, the successful candidate will perform the full spectrum of database and application development, including but not limited to the following:
Computing Systems Professional 1 ($60,400 - $95,900)
High-quality SharePoint development for the yellow and red networks.
Designs, develops, modifies, tests, debugs and evaluates software to meet functional requirements for functional areas.
Web development and maintenance.
Computing Systems Professional 2 ($72,500 - $118,200)
Design, develop and maintain MySQL or Oracle Databases.
Develop and implement mobile applications and websites for the organization.
Perform research and development to identify and implement applicable emerging technologies in the ADPSM computing environment.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Knowledge of software development methodologies, tools and processes, including source code control, application development tools and techniques, database design, programming languages, and component integration.
Working knowledge of database development and mythologies.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a rapidly changing team-based environment.
Excellent collaboration and communications (verbal and written) skills.
Working knowledge of the following technologies: Microsoft Access, Microsoft SharePoint, Nintex Workflows, InfoPath.
Ability to work on unusually significant, unique or complex issues; provides solutions that are highly creative and where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
Additional Job Requirements for Computing Systems Professional 2:
In addition to the Job Requirements outlined above, qualification at the Computing Systems Professional 2 level requires:
Working knowledge of database development in MySQL or Oracle.
Skilled in the design and development of mobile applications.
Experience developing and providing software user training to end users.
Q Clearance and/or PF-4 unescorted access.
Experience working on classified systems and networks.
Skilled in design software such (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.)
Computing Systems Professional 1Position typically requires a minimum of two years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Computing Systems Professional 2
Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, §712.11. These requirements include on going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.

Located in northern New Mexico, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. LANL enhances national security by ensuring the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear stockpile, developing technologies to reduce threats from weapons of mass destruction, and solving problems related to energy, environment, infrastructure, health, and global security concerns.
The Computer Systems Professional 1/2 will report to the Material Management & Business Service (NPI-8) Group Leader with the Nuclear Process Infrastructure Division under the Plutonium Science and Manufacturing Directorate (ADPSM). NPI-8 provides technical procedure writers, training support, document control, records management, classified and unclassified computer support services for ADPSM and all personnel at the TA-55, TA-50, TA-35 and CMR locations. In addition NPI-8 operates the TA-55 Procurement Center and Warehousing functions in support of ADPSM’s manufacturing and programmatic missions.
