What You Will Do
The Contractor Assurance Specialist 1 position requires analytical, technical and team-oriented skills to support current-state institutional metrics and trending processes and tools. Specifically, the selected incumbent will help to meet metrics and trending deliverables, use Microsoft Excel or other performance software to develop trend charts and develop or collect metrics; and identify new approaches in integrating metrics and trending methodologies throughout the institution. Also, the incumbent may be called upon to support other focused initiatives within the Institutional Quality & Performance Assurance (IQPA) division and Performance Assurance (PA) group.
The Contractor Assurance Specialist 1 will report to the IQPA-PA Institutional Performance Analysis Team Leader.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Experience in gathering and analyzing information or in using performance‐based approaches, such as metrics, trending, analytical techniques, and assessments
Experience with or capacity to learn new approaches to integrating metrics and trending methodologies, e.g., data visualization tools, statistical process control
Demonstrated experience with interpersonal and team-building skills
Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel
Desired Skills (skills that are nice to have, but not necessary) :
Working knowledge of the following areas and associated tools: data management, metrics, trending, continuous improvements, and issues management
Understanding of integrated organizational-level performance based systems
Working knowledge of LANL organizational structure, policies, and procedures
- A bachelor's degree or 2 years of equivalent work experience required.

The Institutional Quality & Performance Assurance Division (IQPA-DO) office is dedicated to provide critical, expert, and timely services to ensure operational excellence is achieved and sustained by providing trustworthy and transparent continuous improvement and quality systems in support of Los Alamos National Laboratory.
The Institutional Quality & Performance Assurance - Performance Assurance (IQPA-PA) group is in the IQPA Division. The IQPA-PA group is responsible for providing the institution with services and products including but not limited to: performance improvement, occurrence investigation, causal analysis, metrics and trending, lessons learned, and issues management oversight.
