Los Alamos National Laboratory Controlled Storage, Delivery and Laundry Custodian(Production Control Specialist 1) in Los Alamos, New Mexico

What You Will Do

The selected candidate will effectively and compliantly manage Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Laundry at TA-55, RLUOB, RLW, TWF, RANT/WCRRF and CMR. Utilize inventory management systems to maintain and verify inventory levels as well as manage centralized distribution and assignment of PPE lockers. Ensure change rooms are decluttered, organized and stocked daily. Comply with institution controlled storage procedures, P330-11, 12 and 13. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean receiving area; comply with procedures, rules, and regulations; work cohesively in a team environment; provide high level of attention to detail; and exhibit strong organizational skills.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage material in accordance with applicable quality assurance and industry standards.

  • Comply with Laboratory practices policies, and procedures specifically relating to controlled storage

  • Knowledge of inventory control practices.

  • Demonstrated experience utilizing Inventory Control Material Tracking systems and/or proficient in Microsoft office software systems

  • Demonstrated experience and excellence in interacting with customers in a customer service-related setting or position and work cohesively in a team environment.

  • Possess high attention to detail with accuracy and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to obtain Q clearance.

  • Ability to obtain forklift operator’s license

  • Ability to obtain Human Reliability Program (HRP) certification

  • Ability to proactively work to assist others in achieving the organizations objectives

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in an environment that encourages collaboration with fellow team members to contribute to the efficiency of the facility

  • Able to learn basic safety requirements needed to work within a Radiological Facility

  • Proficient computer skills

  • Candidate must be organized, focused, meticulous, motivated and reliable.

  • Demonstrated experience with Inventory Control and/or Material Tracking systems

  • Active Q clearance

  • Enrolled in HRP

HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, §712.11. These requirements include on going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.

Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served at least one year of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Where You Will Work

Located in northern New Mexico, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in strategic science on behalf of national security. LANL enhances national security by ensuring the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear stockpile, developing technologies to reduce threats from weapons of mass destruction, and solving problems related to energy, environment, infrastructure, health, and global security concerns.

The selected candidate will report to the Nuclear Process Infrastructure Equipment Installation (NPI-8) Warehousing first line manager. The (NPI) Division provides the necessary business process and support functions to ensure Los Alamos National Laboratory, through the Associate Lab Director for Weapons Production (ALDWP), successfully executes its mission assignments involving nuclear and explosive materials, science, technology, and weapons components. NPI partners with the ALDWP Engineering, Operations, and Program Management Divisions and with the ADNHHO Facility Operations Directors at TA-55 and TA-22 to achieve mission success.

The NPI-8 Materials Management and Business Services Group provides an array of procurement and warehousing support services critical to ALDWP operations at TA-55, RLW, RANT, TWF, CMR, WCRRF and RLUOB. The group has dedicated staff that strive to deliver Best in Class procurement and warehousing support to enable plutonium science and manufacturing in support of the national defense.

NPI-8 provides business solution services in the areas of web-based application development and management, development of information management systems and business process automation in support of work performed for ALDWP.
