The Office of Counterintelligence (OCI) at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) works in conjunction with the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence to safeguard our national security. In this role you would contribute to our mission by:
Conducting Cyber Counterintelligence investigations as well as providing cyber expertise to support other investigations.
Analyzing information systems and performing forensics for evidence of compromise by advanced persistent threats, insider threats, and other cyber CI concerns.
Providing cyber expertise to LANL and national threat assessments.
Collaborating with the LANL Computer Security Incident Response Team and
Other cyber security and information technology components.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements
To succeed in this role you will need to have the following qualifications:
Advanced Persistent Threat:
You will need to be familiar with advanced persistent threat modus operandi and indicators.
In this position you need to have demonstrated experience with network forensics and full packet capture analysis as well as enterprise level incident response and host forensics.
For this role you will need to have advanced knowledge of Windows and Linux workstation/server management.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Computer Science/Information Systems or other technical fields and a minimum of eight years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
In addition to the minimum requirements it would be a bonus if you had some of the qualifications below:
You will need to have experience with malware reverse engineering, modification and analysis.
It would be an advantage to have experience in the US intelligence community and familiarity with seminal intelligence community policy (e.g., EO 12333, PDD 61). Familiarity with the DOE Counterintelligence Program is helpful.
It would be a plus to have familiarity with MS Windows Domain and Windows server administration.
Knowledge of Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques would be an advantage.
