What You Will Do
The Weapons Facilities Operations (WFO) Facility Operations Directorate (FOD) is responsible for facilitating mission execution at DARHT (Accelerator Facility), the High Explosives (HE) Sciences, Firing and Detonator Facilities and at the Weapons Engineering Tritium Facility (WETF). It is the responsibility of the FOD to ensure that the facilities are operated and maintained in a safe and secure manner and in a ready state for mission execution. The FOD provides organizational leadership for facility Maintenance; Operations; Environment, Safety, Health (ESH); Quality; Waste Services; and Engineering. This Operations Manager 4 will report directly to the WFO FOD and will be responsible for providing day-to-day oversight of operations within WFO Weapons and High Explosives Facilities.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Demonstrated knowledge of requirements for Integrated Safety Management, Formality of Operations, and Safety Basis.
Demonstrated experience in implementation of Conduct of Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Training program.
Demonstrated experience in implementation of the DOE Explosives Safety Manual.
Demonstrated ability to oversee explosives facility operations, intentional firing operations, and safety program implementation.
Demonstrated experience fostering a collaborative environment to enable compliant mission execution.
Demonstrated management/leadership ability to oversee a wide range of management functions, including directing the plan of the day/week process to ensure coordination of facility and programmatic operations; group budget executing the notification, investigation and reporting processes regarding abnormal events; performing as a critique director; acting as an advisor to subordinate personnel to ensure professional development is encouraged and disciplined operations are continuously improved; and direct work activities that ensure that the facility is maintained within prescribed operating limits.
Demonstrated experience dealing with organizations deployed to the FOD (Maintenance, Engineering, Safety Basis, Operations, Radiation Protection, etc.).
Ability to serve as a Facility Incident Commander.
Demonstrated experience interacting with DOE/NNSA or other regulatory organizations.
Demonstrated experience with the implementation and compliance of Safety Basis, including the development of implementation plans, development of implementing documents, and applicable training.
Knowledge of DOE O 420.2C Safety of Accelerator Facilities and Safety Assessment Documents for Accelerator Facilities.
Ability to obtain a Q clearance, which typically requires US citizenship.
Education Required: Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum five years of related management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, post graduate course work may be expected.

Working in the Weapons Facilities Operations Division, the successful candidates will work within a multidisciplinary operations team. The WFO Division maintains facilities operation of high explosives facilities and the non‐reactor nuclear Weapons Tritium Engineering Facility.
