What You Will Do
Join the Network and Infrastructure Engineering (NIE) Division of the Inf orma ti on & Technology element of the Associate Level Directorate, Business Management (ALDBUS) as an IT Project Manager 3. NIE Division provides the technical communication and workplace infrastructure services for the "desktop to teraflops" cyber workplace for the Laboratory.
The IT Project Manager 3 will be responsible for NIE issues management, project management, tracking, monitoring and repor ti ng, and assessment coordination. The successful candidate will facilitate the gathering of metrics and prepare weekly, monthly, trimester, and annual reports for various forums including NNSA, ALDBUS, I&T.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Advanced knowledge of informa ti on technology, networking, cyber security, and applica ti on development environments and issues.
Technical Communica ti on:
Excellent wri tt en and verbal communica ti on skills and the ability to translate project management and technical terms to layperson's terms and present them to audiences in and outside of I&T.
Regula ti on and Compliance:
Advanced knowledge IT governance and compliance standards, processes, and issues.
Collabora ti on:
Demonstrated experience interac ti ng with all levels of personnel including customers, managers, oversight staff, and other project stakeholders.
Advanced knowledge of IT project management including methodologies, tools, and processes; project plan and work package development; scope, schedule, and budget management; and report and change control genera ti on.
Education/Experience: Posi ti on requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 8 years of experience; or, an equivalent combina ti on of educa ti on and experience directly related to the occupa ti on.
Knowledge of relevant NIST standards
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Demonstrated experience in management of cross-organiza ti onal IT and informa ti on security projects and programs
Experience reporting to and communicating with multiple supervisory organizations
Working knowledge of finance and cost accoun ti ng principles as they apply to projects and programs
Knowledge of DOE/NNSA requirements and policies.

Location: This posi ti on will be part of the Laboratory’s Telework Pilot and may work from a remote/home loca ti on within a two-hour ground commute of the Laboratory. The Telework Pilot is in effect from Oct. 1, 2020 through Sept. 30,
2021, but may be shortened or extended at the manager’s discre ti on. Ability to report on-site is a must for this posi ti on.
Posi ti on commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of con ti nuous service in their current posi ti on in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements
for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance which requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon position, additional authorization to access nuclear weapons information may be required that may or may not be available to dual citizens depending upon the circumstances.
Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. SeeDOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
