Los Alamos National Laboratory Maintenance Support Specialist 2 in Los Alamos, New Mexico

What You Will Do

Reporting to the MSS Central Execution Maintenance Manager, you will be a part of developing Preventive Maintenance (PM) work orders for MSS-CE and preparing reports from the CMMS/Asset Suites System or other databases.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and monitor the preventive maintenance program in assigned area and attend Plan of the Day (POD) and Plan of the Week (POTW) meetings as required.

  • Responsible for on-going processes to identify equipment, equipment routine maintenance requirements, current actual cost, estimated cost and proposed estimated cost.

  • Review PM cost estimates and attach cost reports to work order packages for customer review prior to completion.

  • Screen all external work requests PMs.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of and experience with document control and records management.

  • Skill to conceptualize and communicate major elements of processes supporting the maintenance program to both technical and non-technical personnel.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication.

  • Skill in the preparation and presentation of reports.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.

Education/Experience : Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of the Laboratory's quality assurance policies, practices, and procedures

Additional Details

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 . Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.

Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.

Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served at least one year of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
