What You Will Do eXperience IT (XIT) Division is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Media Production/Services Specialist 1 for the XIT Technical Services and Solutions (XIT-TSS) group. The Media Services teams within XIT-TSS are responsible for performing audiovisual and photography/video production work around the Laboratory as well as the operation of several auditoriums and printing services. As part of the Deployed Media Services Team, the Media Production/Services Specialist 1 will perform audiovisual support at TA-55.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Working on a team of photographers, videographers, and audiovisual specialists who provide A/V support for customers at TA-55. This includes classified and unclassified audiovisual support.
Audio/video operation for large auditoriums and conference rooms.
Troubleshooting and basic A/V engineering of presentation and video capture systems in auditoriums and conference rooms.
Live video capturing/broadcasting of presentations and protocol support.
Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with customers, technical staff, and Laboratory management.

What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Experience operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining fixed A/V installations in an auditorium or theater setting.
Experience with basic A/V engineering or presentation venue design (fixed multi-camera capture systems, microphones and audio boards, stage lighting, projectors, podium and speaker location, etc.).
Ability and desire to become knowledgeable with new communication and presentation technology, styles and standards, as the multimedia industry and Laboratory’s needs change.
Ability to maintain excellent customer service under pressure during live presentations or live recordings in full auditoriums and broadcast to thousands of viewers.
Ability to work as a team member to operate and service auditoriums and conference rooms to support internal LANL customers.
Skilled in verbal and written communications and in negotiating with customers and vendors.
Active DOE Q clearance.
Knowledge of legal requirements affecting media production.
Knowledge of presentation technology (e.g., computer display output formats, EDID, projectors and LCD screens, microphones and feedback eliminators, etc.).
Skilled in video editing software (Premiere, Final Cut Pro).
Knowledge of security procedures, policies, and practices involving Laboratory visitors.
Reliability with scheduled high-visibility events in high-pressure corporate environments (e.g., Keeping A/V systems running well during a presentation in an auditorium filled with hundreds of people and broadcast live to thousands.).
Education: Position typically requires a minimum of two years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Job Functions (can perform with or without reasonable accommodation): Color discrimination, depth perception, ability to discriminate speech, sitting, typing or keyboarding, fine motor control, lifting up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment: Working alone, working overtime or irregular schedule, working off-shift/rotating schedule, working in high-security environment.

Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, §712.11. These requirements include on going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served at least one year of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
