What You Will Do
This position will report to the TA-55 Equipment Operations Supervisor, the main responsibilities of this position will be operation of equipment owned by the TA55 Facility Operations Director. The selected candidate will be assigned the Equipment Operator (EO) qualification. Equipment operators are responsible for operating facility owned equipment (e.g. fans, boilers, air compressors), performing daily rounds, supporting cryogenic filling/gas cylinder/tube trailer change outs and performing surveillance or In-Service Inspections.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Expert experience working within a formal Conduct of Operations framework (DOE or equivalent).
Extensive experience and understanding of the following aspects of equipment operations as applied to a Nuclear Facility:
Verbatim procedure compliance
hazard identification and analysis
general configuration management
formal work control processes
Extensive knowledge of typical facility electrical and mechanical systems, sub-systems and components (heating, ventilation, refrigeration systems, cooling towers, fire suppression/alarm systems, air compressors, pneumatic controls, etc.)
Ability to read, understand and explain engineering electrical and mechanical drawings/specifications.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication
Knowledge and understanding of Limiting Conditions of Operation (LCO) as specified in the Technical Safety Requirements (TSR) while performing surveillances or assigned tasks.
Understanding of the concepts and principles of Integrated Work Management, Integrated Safety Management (ISM) and Integrated Safeguards and Security Management (ISSM), or equivalent non-DOE programs
Demonstrated experience with On the Job training techniques or relevant experience in training
Demonstrated experience with the development or writing/revising of technical procedures.
Education Required: Position typically requires a high school diploma and four-to-six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, additional training, certification, and/or education will be expected, including associate’s degrees and graduation from technical institutions.
