Los Alamos National Laboratory Oracle EBS Software Developer (Software Developer 3/4) in Los Alamos, New Mexico

What You Will Do

This position will be filled at either the Software Developer 3 or 4 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.

Your bright mind is exactly what are looking for to help support the Software Applications and Engineering group (SAE-2) as an Oracle Applications Developer. In the role, you will be supporting the development and maintenance of HRMS, Procurement, Financial, Inventory, Environment, Safety, and Health applications and infrastructure components.

Software Developer 3 ($91,800 – $151,400)

You will provide software enhancement and support using the Oracle development tool suite. You will contribute to the designing, developing, modifying, testing, debugging, and evaluating of software to meet customer requirements and Design and develop complex, large scale true web and mobile applications. In addition, you must be an excellent team player and independently able to research and provide excellent production support while adhering to all policies and procedures as outlined by the established Software Configuration Management Plan.

Software Developer 4 ($101,000 - $168,600)

In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this levelyou will be able to assess the impact of software upgrades and other environment changes. You will work independently with minimal direction and/or serve as Technical Lead on Projects and coordinate technical activities of project personnel. In addition, you will provide knowledge transfer to technical staff, mentor early-career developers and lead complex software development projects.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Experience designing, developing, modifying, testing, debugging software based on customer requirements

  • Experience implementing, upgrading, supporting, extending and enhancing Commercial off the Shelf Products(COTS)

  • Ability to partner with customers and colleagues

  • Experience with software configuration management and software quality assurance methodologies

  • Oracle experience using database development (SQL and PLSQL), ayroll/OTL and Oracle HRMS, EBS suite platform, BD 12c, financials, XML/BI Publisher, and writing fast formulas

  • Experience with mobile application development and ability to create RESTful services, using a Software Version Control System, and using and developing Web Services

  • Experience with HTML5, CSS, JSON, and AJAX framework, secure coding practices, and JQuery and JavaScript libraries

Additional Job Requirements for a Software Developer 4:

In addition to the requirements outlined above, qualification at the higher level requires:

  • Expert knowledge in analyzing and defining business requirements and preparing design documents and diagrams

  • Extensive functional experience with Oracle Payroll and OTL with in depth understanding of Oracle HRMS modules(Core HR, Performance Management, iRecruitment, Benefits)

  • Experience mentoring and teaching developers Fast Formulas

  • Extensive experience in developing and managing customizations/extensions for federal government sector requirements

  • Ability to work independently with direction and/or coordinates activities of other personnel

  • Expert knowledge of the Oracle development toolset

  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills for communicating technical information and building relationships with customers and colleagues

Education/Experience at lower level: Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, post graduate course work may be desirable.

Education/Experience at higher level: Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of twelve years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, post graduate course work may be expected.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience using a Software Version Control System

  • Experience developing and enhancing Web and Mobile applications

  • Experience in mentoring and transferring knowledge to others

  • Experience developing applications using Oracle Application Express(APEX) applications version 19.X

  • Lead complex software development projects
