Los Alamos National Laboratory Personnel Security (Security Manager 2) in Los Alamos, New Mexico
What You Will Do
Come join our team! As a member of Personnel Security and reporting to the Group Leader, this position will provide management and operational oversight for Access Control, Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12 (HSPD-12) credential support, Clearance Processing, the Human Reliability Program, and Drug & Alcohol Testing. The Security Manager 2 is responsible for the supervision of staff, tactical execution, oversight, promoting teamwork within the organization, promoting a positive work environment and management of daily operations.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Thorough knowledge and demonstrated experience directing and/or executing one or more of the following programs: DOE badging program; federal HSPD-12 program; Clearance Processing; Human Reliability Program; Drug & Alcohol Testing.
Extensive experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions and recommending solutions on problems affecting security and safeguards programs and administration.
Demonstrated skill and experience creating and maintaining a cohesive team by providing leadership in a high-stress, high-volume business environment and effectively communicating group initiatives and goals.
Record of effective written and oral communications as evidenced by internal and external interactions, including briefings and presentations.
In-depth knowledge and experience with security audits, inspections, and developing appropriate corrective actions.
Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience in Security, Law Enforcement, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Additional consideration may be given to professionally recognized training and certifications in related fields.
Knowledge of government regulations affecting DOE Security Badging, Clearance Processing, HRP, and Drug/Alcohol programs.
Thorough knowledge of Personnel Security program development and administration, including experience developing policy and procedure documentation.
Excellent organizational skills for project planning, execution and management, and experience in budget preparation, execution and oversight and experience in personnel management of employees.
Knowledge and experience with Oracle Business Systems; 4th Dimensional Relational Databases, Security Applications such as Badging, Cleared Visitor, FOCI, Clearance Processing, HSPD-12 Sponsorship, Enrollment, and Activation activities.

Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served at least one year of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
