What You Will Do
The Furniture and Relocation Lead reports directly to the Infrastructure Program Office (IFPROG) as a regular staff member. The primary duties of the Furniture and Relocation Lead areto manage LANL staff furniture requests from inception to delivery; manage LANL staff move requests from inception to occupancy; coordinate space related facility modifications from inception through project execution; prioritize key functions, capabilities and processes for the Furniture and Relocations Group; and communicate with next level management on prioritization, planning and progress of the Furniture and Relocations Group. The position will be responsible to consult with customers and stakeholders on the planning and execution of major staff relocations. The successful candidate requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives and implements strategic methods when managing furniture systems procurement, staff relocations and other office space management related tasks. This position regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels that perform similar or related tasks. It requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship. What You Need
Demonstrates professional level experience in conducting major staff relocations and related procurement and project activities
Significant experience in a position of senior responsibility regarding the management of staff relocation projects which include activities such as move planning, interior design as well as furniture system layout, design and procurement
Demonstrates experience with office furniture management and procurement for large institutional environments through effective teamwork and oral, written and graphic communication skills.
Communicates in an effective and timely manner within the organizations and with other stakeholders.
Delivers consistently high-quality (e.g. accurate, well-organized, and easily understood) written communications in all assigned areas.
Demonstrates experience with the management of staff relocations and related facility modifications for large institutional environments through effective teamwork and oral, written and graphic communication skills.
Knowledge and understanding of laboratory, institutional and campus type sites and facilities with regards to staff relocations and related activities.
Must have the ability to demonstrate a general understanding of the technical and scientific work undertaken in research and development facilities, within the context of furniture systems procurement, staff relocations and other office space management related tasks.
Previous experience with DOE/NNSA or government organizations is desirable.
Current membership in ASID, IDS, IIDA, IFMA, PMI or other related associations is desired.
Education: This position typically requires a bachelor’s degreefrom an accredited school of architecture, interior design, or an equivalent/similar degree and 10 years of experience.
