Are you a recent graduate or have experience as a Technician? In an effort to enhance our talent, we are introducing and promoting the R&D Engineering Institutional Technician Pipeline Internship Program Pilot. The pilot will focus on Engineered Systems, Development and Fabrication, Designer/Drafters, and Research Technicians at LANL and will provide training and development, as well as, career progression.
Selected students will work under the direction of a mentor and receive on-the-job training and experience.
Expectation: Students will be expected to work towards demonstrating proficiency for the competencies as a Designer/Drafter, Development and Fabrication, Engineered Systems, or Research Technician.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Be at least 18 years of age
Have a high school diploma, or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
Awarded an Associates or Certificate degree in relevant area within last 3 years
Minimum 3.0 GPA
Interest in and aptitude as a designer/drafter, development and fabrication or engineered systems technician
Effective verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to obtain DOE “Q” clearance which typically requires US citizenship.
- Previous relevant technician experience.
Essential Job Functions (can perform with or without reasonable accommodation): Vision, speech, and hearing, reading vision, walking, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, crawling, and twisting the trunk or back, applying torque with hands and arms, lifting 30+ pounds.
