Professional Staff Assistant 2 ($60,400─$ 95,900)
The Professional Staff Assistant (PSA) will support the CFO Controller organization (CFO-CNTL). The PSA will interact daily with the Controller, Group Leaders, First Line Managers and the Administrative Assistant in the organization. Will also have frequent interactions with the Division Office. The PSA is responsible for providing advanced-level support to the management team in the areas of administration, finance, human resources, communications, purchasing, and security. The PSA will maintain a professional office atmosphere and assume responsibility with minimal supervision, demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail, initiative, versatility, tact, and confidentiality in all matters. The PSA will serve as an integral member of the organization and is responsible for acting as the interface between the group, the division office, and other LANL organizations. The successful candidate must be a motivated performer capable of quickly changing focus, acting independently, and comfortable with a broadly defined scope of work. Work is conducted in a busy, fast-paced team environment that requires close cooperation, adaptability, taking initiative in completing tasks, and a willingness to provide support where needed.
Professional Staff Assistant 3 ($72,500─$118,200)
The Professional Staff Assistant (PSA) will serve as the point of contact for the CFO Controller organization (CFO-CNTL). The PSA will interact daily with the Controller and the Group Leaders in the organization and within the division, as well as internal and external to the Laboratory. More specifically, responsibilities will include: working as the primary member of the Controller management team in the areas of project planning, human resources, procurement, staffing, quality, property management, facility interface, financial issues critical to effective group management, and solving other problems of advanced complexity. The position will also participate in HR, business, operational, and/or programmatic goals and objectives; develop special reports, presentations, correspondence, and other documents as required; and lead administrative activities by recognizing, researching, and implementing business process improvements; leading administrative support team in business initiatives, establish administrative systems and processes, and engage in periodic organizational objectives meeting initiatives and milestones.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Demonstrated experience providing professional level support to and interfacing effectively with all levels of management, employees, students and external customers.
Demonstrated experience in conducting research, analyzing problems, and successfully identifying and integrating creative ideas and solutions to enhance office productivity and efficiency and ensure customer satisfaction.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize, prioritize, track and follow through to completion on multiple tasks with time sensitive deadlines.
Demonstrated experience working successfully in a teaming environment, including networking with key contacts outside area of professional expertise, creative problem solving, negotiating, and dealing effectively with conflict.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and the ability to interact with a variety of constituents.
Demonstrated ability to accept flexibility in work assignments and a record of dependability and reliability as proven through good attendance and quality of work.
Excellent and demonstrated expertise and hands-on knowledge of and experience with standard business applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
Bachelor's degree preferably in accounting, finance, business administration and typically five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Additional Job Requirements for Professional Staff Assistant 3:
Advanced knowledge of and LANL experience in two or more of the following specialized areas: communication, procurement, training, human resources, financial management, project management, or security.
Advanced skill and proven experience performing day-to-day operations ensuring that policies and procedures are being followed, that goals and objectives are met, and that services and projects are being accomplished efficiently and effectively
Advanced skill and proven experience in designing and implementing systems, procedures, and operational efficiencies to meet changing program or project requirements and schedules
Advanced skill and proven experience in researching, investigating alternatives, and recommending solutions on problems affecting business and operational issues.
Demonstrated familiarity with Laboratory and DOE policies and procedures and successful experience in analyzing, interpreting, and applying those policies to a complex organization.
Bachelor's degree preferably in accounting, finance, business administration and typically eight years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Where You Will Work
The financial management focus of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Division includes integrating processes and systems across the Division, providing quality business processes and systems throughout the Laboratory, and partnering with the programs and technical divisions to strengthen business capabilities. CFO provides stewardship of Laboratory, Los Alamos National Security, LLC, (LANS), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and sponsor resources, building alliances with NNSA, DOE, Los Alamos Field Office (LAFO), and the Albuquerque Service Center. CFO supports LANL's business functions in Accounting, Budgeting, Financial Compliance, Corporate Reporting, Travel and Tax, Pension and Treasury.
The Controller’s organization is responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations that support the mission of the Laboratory. These functions include General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Property Accounting, Accounts Payable, Travel operations, Payroll/Craft Payroll, Benefits, Accounting, Corporate Reporting, Treasury/Tax, and Financial Systems.
