Los Alamos National Laboratory Quality Assurance Analyst 4 in Los Alamos, New Mexico

What You Will Do

The Production Agency Quality (PAQ) organization is looking for a highly motivated Quality Assurance Analyst 4 to support the implementation and oversight of the Associate Laboratory Directorate Weapons Production (ALDWP) Software Quality Assurance program. The selected candidate will assist personnel in meeting defined software quality procedures and process requirements including the following:

  • Oversee the implementation and provide consultation for software engineering process improvement in all software engineering process areas especially the following: project planning, risk management, requirements development and management, verification and validation and configuration management.

  • Develop and mentor staff in software quality assurance principles.

  • Research, assemble, and/or evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes affecting information systems policies or programs; recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issues.

  • Devise improvements to current processes and procedures and develop models of possible future configurations. Perform work flow analysis and recommend quality improvements.

  • Conduct and support software assessments in all areas of software engineering.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of software engineering concepts, principles and standards.

  • Expert knowledge of software quality assurance and configuration management.

  • Expert knowledge of software project management and software project monitoring and control.

  • Expert knowledge in developing system requirements, software requirements specifications and functional interfaces between system software components and the system‐level design.

  • Expert knowledge and demonstrated experience in the software verification and validation processes.

  • Expert knowledge and experience developing software quality artifacts for all software development lifecycle stages.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience of quality assurance regulatory, contractual, and technical documents, i.e., DOE Order 414.1D, 10 CRF 830, Weapons Quality Policy (NAP‐24A) and NQA‐1.

  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience implementing LANL contract requirements relevant to software quality assurance and cyber security activities.

  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in performing quality assessments, surveillances, and/or audits in all areas of software engineering.

  • A recognized, relative industry certification in project management or software quality inspection/assurance such as PMI’s PMP certification or ASQ’s CSQE certification.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science discipline and minimum of 12 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to meet the requirements above.

The Production Agency Quality organization provides the Quality Engineering and Product Inspection expertise in support of the diverse manufacturing assignments within the Weapons Production (WP) The goal is to exceed internal and external customer requirements by facilitating effective implementation of defined applicable quality standards into product manufacturing processes.The diverse project support base includes but is not limited to; weapons, oxide production, NASA power sources, radiological materials production and various “strategic partnerships” projects.
