What You Will Do
This position reports to the Product Engineering First Line Manager in PT-3. As a Research Technologist you will directly support the Chief Product Engineer for pit production. This position will develop, test, and deploy solutions supporting plutonium component manufacturing and production activities. As a member of the product engineering team you will work between focused production areas to analyze manufacturing data and track digital work flow solutions. This position may include Fissile Material Handler (FMH) and Human Reliability Program (HRP) duties. You will support the various manufacturing and software products used by the product engineering team as well as the production process areas. You will be responsible for managing the content and organization of the SharePoint site, supporting MRP deployment and Solumina development and implementation.Your role within the product engineering team will also include developing classified data sheets and build records for PF-4 production processes. This position will require to learn all aspects of PT division’s operational plutonium processing areas, to be able to deploy developed “in-plant” technical solutions.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Technical Knowledge: Design, implement, troubleshoot and optimize software solutions to solve business problems using a variety of software tools and programming languages with the intent to provide the most optimal solution to a problem. Facilitate and/or participate in functional and technical solution reviews with management, process owners, and product engineering.
Technical Development: Design, implement and coordinate unit testing, integration testing and end user testing. Create and execute appropriate tests and ensure the integrity of the solution prior to business unit and user acceptance testing.
Technical Support: Conduct the training of power users and end users, and create documentation (including multimedia) to support the solutions. Expertise in troubleshooting and performance tuning along with analytical and good problem solving skills.
Software Skills: Ability to implement project based solutions across various work groups.
Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 2 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the
Knowledge of Manufacturing activities and processes.
Ability to develop software end point solutions using high-level programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, and Visual Basic/VBA.
Ability to develop software end point solutions for web applications residing on the intranet to support business solutions such as SharePoint, Nintex, et cetera.
Ability to author and edit in XML, and create and maintain XSLT scripts for XML transformations.
Ability to design and implement software solutions using object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) or Agile methodologies.
Ability to develop application architecture, and flow diagrams in Microsoft Visio.

The Pit Technologies division ensures execution of Pit Manufacturing, Surveillance, and National Security Missions by manufacturing plutonium and pit related products.
