What You Will Do

We are looking for an entry-level Human Resources professional to support critical staffing and human resources needs across the laboratory. Join the Central Services team who is responsible for fulfilling a very important role within the HR organization. Responsibilities include the reviewing and posting of job advertisements, processing of employee personnel actions (including hires), development and extension of employment offers, support of applicants, employees and managers with job applications, HR-related policies, procedures, and practices as part of a team. What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Technology Management: Experience with HR systems (i.e Oracle, People Soft, etc.) and databases (i.e. Microsoft Excel) to accurately input information and retrieve, organize and report HR data and metrics.
HR Business Acumen : Experience reviewing and processing human resources actions necessary to support business needs with regards to hires, terminations, records, personnel actions and other process and policy driven deliverables while ensuring institutional consistency, data integrity, and transactional excellence.
Relationship Management: Demonstrated ability to thoughtfully and proactively work with customers to understand their needs, resolve issues, and apply policy and procedure to successfully achieve business goals.
Ethical Practice: Direct experience maintaining confidentiality and protecting Personally Identifiable Information (PII) throughout daily operations.
Planning and Prioritization: Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of assignments, adapt quickly to shifting priorities, meet strict deadlines, and multi-task in a detail-oriented and fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of Los Alamos National Laboratory HR systems (Oracle, Oracle iRecruitment, Remedy, Broadsoft, EDRMS)
Familiarity with Los Alamos National Laboratory structure, HR policies, practices, and procedures
Relevant HR Professional Certification, e.g. PHR, SPHR, etc.
Demonstrated ability to recommend, develop, and implement process improvements

Location: This position will be located in Los Alamos, NM with the potential for teleworking from a location within 2 hours ground commute of this location, Reporting onsite will be periodically required. Telework is at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Position Commitment : Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Term position: Regular-status Laboratory employees applying for term-status positions may retain regular status with approval of the cognizant Principle Associate Director.
