Los Alamos National Laboratory Sharepoint Developer (Software Developer 2/3) in Los Alamos, New Mexico

What You Will Do

This position will be filled at either the Software Developer 2 or 3 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.

Software Developer 2 ($77,300 - $126,00)

Responsibilities Include:

  • Designs, develops, modifies, tests, debugs and evaluates software to meet functional requirements for functional areas.

  • Gathers requirements and recommends and implements solution.

  • Recommends changes in development, maintenance, and system standards.

Software Developer 3 ($94,100 - $155,700)

In addition to the duties outlined above, the Software Developer 3 will be required to:

  • Self-initiate work with limited supervision.

  • Use independent judgment for determining course of action to accomplish objectives.

  • Use a broad range of advanced technical skills to solve complex technical issues.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Proven software lifecycle knowledge including requirements, design, development, and testing with appropriate documentation.

  • Experience developing solutions using Sharepoint 2010/2013 including SharePoint object model, user controls, event handlers, site definitions, permissions, and page layouts.

  • Experience developing Sharepoint sites using Infopath or Nintex forms.

  • Experience developing workflows using Nintex workflows or a similar product.

  • Demonstrated experience using 3rd party Javascript packages such as Angular, React, and/or KendoUI.

  • Experience writing and implementing business solutions using Agile practices.

  • Experience with HTML5, XML, and/or CSS.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Demonstrated experience consuming web services using REST .

  • This position requires Q clearance access authorization. Applicants must have the ability to obtain and maintain DOE clearances, which normally requires US citizenship.

Additional Job Requirements for Software Developer 3:

In addition to the Job Requirements outlined above, qualification at the Software Developer 3 level requires:

  • Demonstrated experience in authoring and consuming web services using both REST and SOAP protocols.

  • Experience with relational database design and architecture, advanced SQL queries, TSQL.

  • Familiarity with the use of JSON.

  • Experience using SCOM, JOSM, and/or SSOM.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience authoring SSRS or Crystal Reports.

  • Experience using Jira/Confluence.

  • Experience with TFS.

  • Experience developing customized web parts.

Software Developer 2 Education Required: Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Software Developer 3 Education Required: Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At this level, post graduate course work may be desirable.

Location: This position will be part of the Laboratory’s Telework Pilot and may work from a remote/home location within a two-hour ground commute of the Laboratory. The Telework Pilot is in effect from Oct. 1, 2020 through Sept. 30, 2021, but may be shortened or extended at the manager’s discretion. Ability to report on-site is a must for this position.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Additional Details

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 . Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
