What You Will Do
This position will be filled at either the Operations Support Specialist3/ 4 level , depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
The selected candidate will report to the TA-55-WF TWF/RANT Operations Manager serving as the primary interface between the tenant organizations, support services subcontractors and FOD to review and implement DOE O 422.1, Conduct of Operations.
Operations Support Specialist 3 $77,300 - $126,000
Develops and maintains facility operations-focused programs, policies, processes, and procedures in support of safe and compliant facility operations. Duties may include, but are not necessarily limited to, manage outage plans; tracking employee training/qualification; providing advanced guidance in interpreting Laboratory policies impacting facility operations to ensure compliance; Coordinating the review and revision of procedures, specifications, and forms pertaining to facility operations; Managing and performing assigned Laboratory, Facility, and Operational programs, ensuring compliance and reporting requirements are maintained. Perform all other functions of a fully trained TWF and RANT operator as required.
Operations Support Specialist 4 $94,100 - $155,700
In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this levelfully Qualified and experienced operations support specialist as defined by the organizations training qualification program. Expert in management of the day to day execution of all operations within the facility and the safe execution of technical safety requirement surveillances required to meet safety basis requirements.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Facility Operations: Advanced knowledge of facility operations, including familiarity with integrated safety, formality of operations, facility availability, compliance, TRU waste operations, performance, maintenance, engineering, safety basis, readiness, configuration management, work control, activity approval, quality assurance, training and qualification, feedback and improvement.
Policy and Procedure: Advanced knowledge of institutional and organizational policies, practices, and procedures, including policy and procedure development, implementation, and enforcement.
Planning and Organization: Advanced knowledge of documentation quality assurance, including document controls and records management.
Safety: Advanced understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures.
Compliance: Advanced knowledge of the attributes of a sound conduct of operations program. Familiarity with all Department of Energy (DOE) training, qualification, and readiness requirements as they pertain to assigned facility.
Qualification: DOE order 426.6 requires High School diploma, and 3 years of Nuclear experience.Full-time related academic training (e.g., degree programs, trade schools, vocational programs, etc.) may be substituted on a one-for-one basis for 2 of the 3 years nuclear experience.

Nuclear Facility: Expert knowledge with Conduct of Operations as applied to a Hazard Category 2 Nuclear Facility.
Facility Operations: Expert knowledge of operations to comply with Limiting Conditions of Operation (LCO) as specified in the Technical Safety Requirements (TSR), including the management and supervision of surveillances and inspections in support of DSA/TSR compliance.
Compliance: Expert knowledge of the attributes of a sound conduct of operations program.Familiarity with all Department of Energy (DOE) training, qualification, and readiness requirements as they pertain to assigned facility.
Education/Experience at the Operations Support Specialist 3 level : Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and 8 years of directly related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level, post graduate course work may be desirable.
Education/Experience at the Operations Support Specialist 4 level : Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and 12 years of directly related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. At this level, post graduate course work may be expected.
Advanced knowledge of P315 and the attributes of a sound conduct of operations program.
Advanced knowledge of the Laboratory's issues management process and performance measurement processes.
Advanced knowledge of documentation quality assurance, including document controls and records management.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
