Los Alamos National Laboratory is looking for an early career software developer to join our Environmental, Safety, Health, Quality Security and Visualization Solutions Group (SAE-1). The Software Developer 1 will report to the SAE-1 Group Leader within the Software and Applications Engineering (SAE) Division. Our mission is to deliver reliable, secure, and cost effective software and applications that meet business and operational needs in support of the LANL mission.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
We are looking for someone with basic knowledge and experience designing, developing, modifying, testing, and debugging software (systems development life cycle). You should have a basic knowledge and understanding of:
Relational (SQL) or cross-platform databases (NoSQL).
Automated testing frameworks such as Junit, Gatling, Cucumber, Cypress.io, Robot, or Eggplant.
Using a software version control system such as Git/GitLab, Apache Subversion, CVS, Razor, or Vault.
Web security and secure coding practices.
We are looking for someone with experience working as a productive member of a software development team.
This position requires a relevant bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Agile Development Framework
It would be a bonus if you were familiar working in an Agile (Scrum) team environment.

Location: This position will be physically located in Los Alamos, NM.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served at least one year of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
