What You Will Do

The Weapons Research Services Weapons Mission Technology (WRS-WMT) group is seeking undergraduate level students looking for a challenging internship for the current academic year and/or summer. All selected candidates will be provided with a mentor, a challenging project for their appointment, and an opportunity to present their project work and progress to colleagues. The student projects we have to offer will vary depending on the skills and interests of the candidate and our current needs.

This work is on a small team with broad responsibilities, which offer a variety of IT assignments in addition to software development. These tasks may include requirements analysis, software design, software installation, testing, maintenance and writing documentation.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • All viable candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 for consideration, and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours in the semester prior to the internship.

  • A resume, cover letter and current transcript, showing the GPA and course work requirements, are required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with a diverse professional population

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of at least one programming language such as Java, .NET, JavaScript, Python, SQL, Perl.

  • Candidates must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in one of the following areas (or equivalent):

  • Computer Science

  • Computer Engineering

  • Management Information Systems

  • Business Computer Systems

The Weapons Research Services, Weapons Mission Technology (WRS-WMT) group provides technical support for key weapons mission software tools (e.g. PDMLink and associated packages, Weapons Physics Online Vault, and a variety of other software tools requested by our customers to support capabilities tracking, and integrated information searching).
