What You Will Do_
Become a part of the team that provides systems engineering, program management that ensures the safety and reliability of the LANSCE accelerator complex. With this team you will be expected support the operation of the control and data acquisition systems deployed at the LANSCE facility.
Specifically as a member of this team you will be expected to build and manage all aspects of Linux servers and workstations and NFS servers, plan and install server and workstation hardware upgrades. This team builds and manages all aspects of thin clients, manage and monitor the control system network, and write and manage software use to provide user interfaces in a control-room environment.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Experience in managing all aspects of Linux servers and workstations.
Ability to manage and monitor a network using standard tools.
Experience in setting up and managing firewalls
Programming experience in scripting languages and Java, C, or C++.
Experience with engineering design cycle: requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and support.
Availability for potential 24-hour on-call support of AOT-IC accelerator hardware.
Ability to maintain current systems, document, and evaluate, design and develop future control systems.
Programming with the Experimental Physics Industrial Control System (EPICS) toolkit.
Experience with relational databases such as MySQL.
Experience in developing and managing webpages.
Experience in developing and maintaining system documentation.
Ability to work in control-system operational and maintenance support.
