What You Will Do

As a member of the Logistics Division, the Superintendent 1 will be responsible for the execution and oversight of maintenance work related activities. Responsibilities will include maintaining required safety and security training, assuring safety and security compliance, and making safety and security an integral part of every task; to include taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security. Additionally the Superintendent 1 will be responsible for directing the sequence of work for multi-discipline bargaining unit craft workers while operating within assigned areas. This work will typically consist of Preventative Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), and Minor Maintenance, primarily low to moderate hazard, with various range of complexity, with assignment determined by manager. Establishes, coordinates, and implements maintenance schedules that encompass material and equipment requirements/availability. Track costs to meet loaded budgets and report changes by submitting Work Change Notices (WCN).

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Ability to execute maintenance work activities, to include systems: engineering document control, knowledge of authorization basis, value engineering, work control, facility control systems, upgrades and renovations.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret various physical, mechanical, and electrical documents, specifications, drawings, and schematics.

  • Experience directing work and full understanding of collective bargaining agreements.

  • Experience in identifying problem areas, investigating alternative solutions, and determining action to be performed on problems affecting maintenance management programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system in maintaining and tracking job activities.

  • Comprehensive understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrated experience in multitasking, customer service, and conflict management.

  • Position typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum zero-to-two years experience in maintenance and/or construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
