What You Will Do
Detonator Production (DP) is looking for a Technical Project Manager (TPM) to serve as the primary point of contact for a portion of the detonator production scope. As one of the premier production agencies in the National Security Enterprise, DP works with a variety of stakeholders to provide high-quality products and services that support the nuclear stockpile, protect our nation, and promote world stability.
The successful candidate will manage and ensure the timely completion of mid-sized and moderately complex Detonator Production Division production projects; establish technical requirements for the project; define project deliverables, budgets, and schedules; and oversee the project team in the planning, tracking, and execution of the project from initiation to completion. The TPM ensures the project follows the product realization process. The TPM serves as the primary point of contact for their assigned projects, being the interface between the program office, design agency, and production agency line management.
The successful candidate will apply their technical knowledge to the management of their projects. The TPM will interact with external customers to identify project requirements. The TPM collaborates with the DP management team, subject matter experts, and the production agency (PA) program office to develop and maintain the project plan for their assigned scope of work.
The successful candidate will also coordinate and integrate the work of other Detonator Production project managers.
This position will report to the Team Lead of the Technical Project Management team within the Detonator Production Division Office. This team is responsible for providing technical project management over Detonator Production Division work scope and to maintain a technical baseline plan to achieve customer requirements.

What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Project Management: Working knowledge and experience, at least five years, in project management of technical or operational work, including the development of project plans, work breakdown structures, and work packages; managing to scope, schedule, budget, and technical baselines; identifying and managing risks; and documenting baseline reports and change control actions.
Technical Knowledge: Ability to develop working knowledge of the technical or operational discipline of the assigned project.
Planning: Experience planning and defining project scope through collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) and senior project managers. Experience providing leadership and tactical planning for execution of mid-sized and/or moderately complex projects.
Scheduling: Experience successfully coordinating multiple operations, balancing resources and priorities, and using software to schedule work.
Finance: Experience managing cost and schedule commitments for mid-sized and/or moderately complex technical projects.
Leading Teams: Demonstrated record of successfully supporting or leading cross-organizational teams to ensure products and/or services are delivered within budget and on schedule.
Communication: Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written skills; demonstrated by relationships built, briefings, and presentations. Demonstrated experience in developing and nurturing effective working relationships with personnel at all levels.
Education: Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and 5 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. A Project Management Institute certification is preferred for this level.
Material Handling: Knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) / enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools.
Manufacturing: Demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of production process workflows.
Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement (CI) efforts, such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other methodologies.
Nature of Work: Demonstrated experience interacting with DOE/NNSA and National Security Enterprise sites and complexes.
P rogram requirements: Demonstrated experience with the Defense Programs Business Process System requirements, including the product realization process.
