What You Will Do
Detonator Production (DP) is looking for a Technical Project Manager (TPM) to serve as a master production scheduling manager. As one of the premier production agencies in the National Security Enterprise, DP works with a variety of stakeholders to provide high-quality products and services that support the nuclear stockpile, protect our nation, and promote world stability.
The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing procedures for centralized demand estimating plus production planning throughout LANL for all products manufactured by Detonator Production groups. As a master production scheduling manager, your job duties include developing daily integrated production schedules, managing inventory to maintain appropriate levels, and coordinating the availability of materials for the production process. You also work closely with the management team when coordinating production capacities and available materials. The selected candidate will report directly to the DP-Support Group Leader.
Develop planning tools and framework to obtain approval from main stakeholders.
Convey and negotiate Master Production Schedule along with Detonator Production to assure schedule achievability.
Establish planning calendar to assure standard updates to Master Production Schedule every month.
Develop, execute and maintain tools as well as techniques required to evaluate impact of proposed schedule changes.
Coordinate and lead production meetings.
Supervise and report results against Master Production Schedule.
Develop and execute inventory control methods and reports to assure accurate plus ample inventory levels.
Resolve problems and enhance improvements associated with inventory flow plus production control.

What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Project Management: Expert-level knowledge of and consultative experience in all aspects of project management of technical or operational work, including developing project plans, work breakdown structures, and work packages; managing to scope, schedule, budget, and technical baselines; and documenting baseline reports and change control actions.
Planning/Scheduling: Expert level experience planning and defining project scope through collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs) and senior project managers. Working knowledge and experience in supporting tactical planning and execution of moderately large and/or complex technical projects. Experience successfully coordinating multiple operations, balancing resources and priorities, and using MRP / ERP systems, especially Advance Planning Systems
Supply Chain Management: Expert-levelknowledge using supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes.An APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) at this level is preferred.
Leading Teams: Demonstrated record of successfully leading cross-organizational teams to ensure products and/or services are delivered within budget and on schedule.
Communication: Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written skills; demonstrated by relationships built, briefings, and presentations. Expert-level experience in developing and nurturing effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
Manufacturing: Professional level experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, process workflows, and efficiency measurements
Values and Behaviors: Alignment with DP published Values and Behaviors
Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement (CI) efforts, such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other methodologies.
Nature of Work: Demonstrated experience interacting with DOE/NNSA and National Security Enterprise sites and complexes.
P rogram requirements: Demonstrated experience with the Defense Programs Business Process System requirements, including the product realization process.
Technical Excellence: Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience of project, program, and portfolio management, estimating, cost and scheduling, and change control, issues management, and corrective action development and methods. Background and experience in all aspects of Engineering/or Operations, Procurement, Finance, Proposal Development, and Performance Evaluation of a complex portfolio of projects. Experience assisting with, or lead, reporting and documentation requirements with the executive-level external and internal customers.
Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and 12 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. A Project Management Institute certification is desired for this level.
Location: This position will be located in Los Alamos, NM.

for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance which requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon position, additional authorization to access nuclear weapons information may be required that may or may not be available to dual citizens depending upon the circumstances.
