What You Will Do
Responsible to the Utilities and Infrastructure (UI) Work Control Team Lead and for the development and/or reviewing of work packages including time, material, labor estimates, written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, and/or safety and testing requirements for the implementation and control of operations, maintenance, or modification of work activities within a given facility or area. Specific planning duties may be related to mechanical, electrical, chemical and/or radiological equipment, policies, and procedures and will include resolving work restraints and bringing work packages to final closure.
Follows planned operations and maintenance activities through execution. Verifies work packages have been generated, approved, and material/equipment and resource availability. Drive work planning, procurement, and engineering priorities for activities related to future work execution.
Develops, monitors, and validates accuracy, and auditing of performance data, reports, and other statistical information. Maintains database and other programs as required for use in the development of performance measurements and other required data administration. Evaluates processes, programs, and procedures for potential improvements. Develops and maintains maintenance policies, processes, procedures and provides training in support of the conduct of maintenance program.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Experience with maintenance and operations activities.
In-depth knowledge of and experience working with work control procedures, materials management, and/or mechanical, electrical, and utility maintenance.
Prepares detailed specifications for materials and labor estimates for unique and/or complex activities.
Tracks and expedites established priority of work packages.
Ability to fully understand work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures in unique and/or complex facilities.
Understand and interpret various mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics
Ability to fully utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system in maintaining and tracking work-planning activities.
Knowledgeable of driving planned operations and maintenance work activities to be executed as scheduled during their assigned work execution periods.
Excellent Communication skills
Knowledgeable of and experience with procurement for work execution activities.
Basic knowledge of facility related equipment and maintenance.
Experience scheduling work activities.
Skill in the preparation and presentation of reports.
Working knowledge of the Laboratory's quality assurance policies, practices, and procedures.
Education: Position typically requires a bachelor’s and minimum eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
