What You Will Do
The Maintenance and Site Services (MSS) Division is a multidisciplinary organization whose primary mission is to provide the Laboratory—both nuclear and non-nuclear facilities—with safe, reliable, and efficient infrastructure maintenance and utilities support.
As a work control planner, you will develop, monitor, and validate accuracy, and auditing of performance data, reports, and other statistical information. You will also maintain database and other programs as required for use in the development of performance measurements and other required data administration. Additionally you will evaluate processes, programs, and procedures for potential improvements and develop and maintain maintenance policies, processes, procedures and provides training in support of the conduct of maintenance program.
Safety and security are a primary responsibility for all Laboratory employees. Thus, it is important to maintain required safety and security training, assure safety and security compliance, and make safety and security an integral part of every task, including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Knowledge of and broad experience with unique and/or complex work control, materials management, and/or mechanical maintenance. Extensive knowledge and understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures in unique and/or complex facilities.
In-depth understanding and ability to interpret various unique and/or complex mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics. Ability to fully utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system in maintaining and tracking work- planning activities.
Ability to fully conceptualize and communicate major elements of work control and planning for unique and/or complex activities, both technical and non-technical personnel.
Demonstrated exceptional skill in the preparation and presentation of work control reports.
Ability to self-supervise.
Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the Laboratory's work control and facility policies, practices, and procedures.
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 . No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served at least one year of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
