As part of the Associate Lab Directorate of Weapons Production (ALDWP), the work we do in the Production Support Services Division (PSS) directly affects mission success across Los Alamos National Laboratory.

The PSS-1 Undergraduate Student (UGS) Program offers paid summer and year-round internships for undergraduate students in a variety of disciplines. The program provides mentoring, hands-on technical experience, and professional development opportunities through a formalized work plan complementing the student's chosen area of study.

Examples of LANL projects in ALDWP include, but are not limited to:
  • Centralized and Strategic Planning
  • Management of IT Systems (software and hardware
  • Quality software, application and website design and development
  • Automated systems that decrease processing times and human error



What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program in any Computer Science, Computer Engineering (or related) discipline.
  • Must be enrolled in at least 12 semester credit hours (or full-time equivalent).
  • Must currently have and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).

Desired Qualifications:
  • Computer programming (JavaScript, C#, HTML5, CSS, CMS, etc.) in support of application and website design.
  • Familiarity with APIs to create custom solutions
  • Knowledge and understanding of software development lifecycles
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal and written) well in a professional and technical context; and Commitment to achieving results in a fast paced organizational setting.

Work Location:

The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Additional Details:

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2.
